Creative Kitchen Cabinets

Look at the transformation here.  It never ceases to amaze me how people transform their builder's grade cabinets into things of beauty!!
Miss Creative Crate just added beadboard to the center of her cabinets,
Then painted them.
She also stuck some crown molding on the tops, to dress them up.  And notice how she painted that wood edge black!!?  I LOVE the way that looks!!  So much better than the wood.  What a great idea!
And, of course, they went for new hardware.
I just think it looks so great!!!
Almost like it's a whole different space.
What a beautiful kitchen!!
Check out {The Creative Crate} for all the details.

Chicken Wire Basket

I love chicken wire - ESPECIALLY in the Spring.  It's so springy, right?
That's why I love this project!!
Supplies - an old lamp shade minus the shade, chicken wire, and paint
She used the lamp shade as a pattern for cutting out each side individually, using wire cutters.
Then, she used pliers to attach the wire to the frame and make sure there weren't any poky edges.
She did that around the whole thing, including the bottom.
And then, she painted it.
Isn't that adorable!!?  I love the way it looks filled with those Easter eggs!!!

From Chair to Frame

There are so many things you can do with a pair of junky old chairs.  But, I've never seen anyone do this.
She used the backs,
And created a pair of picture frames.
Gorgeous picture frames.  Isn't that creative!!  Awesome idea!  Visit {All Things Thrifty} for all the details.

Spring Mantle

I just really love the way this Spring Display looks.
I LOVE that blossom painting in the back!!!
Also love this birdhouse...and the fact that it's sitting on a scale makes it so much cuter!
Super cute birdy on some awesome vintage books!
And that pitcher full of spring branches is adorable.
I love it all! As seen on {The Stories of A to Z}

Petal Collar Shirt

Here's another great tutorial from {Welcome to the Good Life}!
Using this Jcrew shirt as inspiration,
And this shirt from Walmart,
And some scraps of fabric, she cut some petals out and attached them to the color of her shirt.
So simple.  SO CUTE!
I like it even better than the Jcrew one.
LOVE this little rose detail.  Well done!

Nursery Shelf

I really love the way this nursery shelf is put together.  Something about the darker color on the inside of the shelves...and the elements used to fill them.
I love the pops of bright colors, and all the little animals used.  But, what I really love, is that even though this shelf is filled with baby things, it still looks sophisticated.  I still don't mind looking at it, unlike so many kids and baby shelves.  This is a constant goal of mine - to achieve an adult approved look while still using the normal toys and things that belong in kids rooms.

My Twig Letters

Recently, someone contacted me on Etsy asking if I might be able to make some twig letters.
She sent me this Potterybarn image.  Apparently, PB doesn't actually sell the letters in this picture.
So, I told her I'd give it a shot.
Here is what I came up with.
I think they turned out pretty good!  So, I decided to see if anyone else would be interested in some twig letters.  And it turns out some were.
Here is an order I recently completed.
And another...
And another.
What do you think? :)
Pretty fun, huh?  Check out my {Little Craft Shoppe} if you want more info.

General Conference Treat Buckets

I'm just loving this idea I saw on {Brown Paper Packages}!
She got these dollar buckets and labeled them with words often used in {General Conference
Then, she filled each bucket with a different kind of candy.
Then, she lined them up on the hearth in the room where her family would be watching Conference.
So, if the kids listened, every time they heard the word on one of the buckets, they could go get a piece of candy from that bucket.
Great lesson on listening...very motivational I think! :)
We used to keep a tally of different words said, just by marking them down on paper...I think this candy business would help kids pay attention longer than we used to. :)
I just love this idea!!

April Fool's Cupcakes

With April Fools a few days away, I thought I'd share some fun little ideas with you.
Love these silly cupcakes!  Spaghetti is actually just frosting put on using a really small tip.  And the meatballs are those Ferrero Rocher chocolates dipped in strawberry jam.  Cute right!?
The mashed potatoes are just frosting spread on evenly with a well on the top.  The gravy is carmel sauce and the butter could either be a yellow starburst or a now n later.  So cute!
The peas and carrots are my favorite!!  The peas are just green runts and the carrots are orange starbursts cut into 4ths.  Doesn't that look awesome!!?
Tricky, Tricky!!  Check out even more foolin ideas at {Our Best Bites}
