Bathroom Details

What is it that takes a space from being an ordinary bathroom to being a beautiful, serene, space?
Could it be as simple as decorative accents?
I think so.
Instead of a regular mirror, opt for a more ornate version.
Make sure everything matches.
Put flowers next to the sink.
Organize every day items in pretty, apothecary jars.
Use dish plates to hold soaps.
Fold towels neatly and tie them with ribbons. so cute.
Use clever little storage canisters and shy away from standard builders issue mirrors.
How about a wall full of different mirrors?
Make sure your storage containers are lovely.
You can have a beautiful bathroom, too. :)

Snowflake Wreath

Here's a fun wreath celebrating Winter.
Jennifer made it using these dollar store snowflakes,
And this styrofoam wreath.
She wrapped it in white and silver ribbon.
Then glued on the snowflakes to the front and back, to give it some depth.
Pretty, right?!
Check it out at {The Toy Box Years}

Winter

What a beautiful time of year this is!!
Filled with beautiful clothes and fun layers.
Winter is so fun.

Ps, don't you LOVE these tiny snowmen!!  So much cuter than the huge ones we make filled with grass and rocks, leaving the yard look awful.  This way, everyone really can make their own and the yard can still be covered in snow.
I love them.

Filling a Wall

Sometimes, when faced with a blank wall, the task of filling it seems really daunting.  Many people try to place one large object in the middle, and while this can make it feel less empty, it often still feels incomplete.
Kathryn at {Nannygoat} did such a good job transforming this wall step by step that I just had to share it!
She started with a family picture, that while large in size, wasn't anywhere near large enough to fill her huge wall.
It got even better when, after hanging the picture on the wall, she framed it with another, more ornate frame.  It really pops and makes a great focal point, but if she had just stopped there, the wall still would have felt incomplete.
This is where most people begin to struggle.  You have to bring things in on either side of the middle statement piece, and they don't necessarily have to be pictures or even match, or even be lined up perfectly! gasp!
They dont' even have to be symmetrical!!  But, bringing new pieces to the wall causes the eye to travel around, looking at each individual piece, making the wall feel full.  It helps when they are very different from each other.
I think my favorite thing about this set up is the fact that it's asymmetrical.  I really love the lettering above the picture.
So, there you have it.  What once looked like this:
Now looks like this:
Notice that the collage doesn't even fill the wall.  That's ok.  As long as between 1/2 and 2/3 of the wall is covered, it will look and feel complete.  Any less feels a little bare, and any more feels a little cluttered.
What a great job she did!!  I might have to copy!

Bookmarks

Using the tutorial I posted about {here} over a year ago, I made these awesome bookmarks.
I'm so in love with how they turned out!!  I gave them away as a Christmas present, and I can't wait to make some of my very own.

Sweet Savannah Kitchen

I'm in love with this kitchen.  You may remember me posting about it when it looked like this:
Beautiful then:
And amazing now!!!:
Love those words up in the ceiling.
And the lighting and the stools and the floors and the cabinets.
Such sweet little details.
I'm seriously in love.  I love how clean it all looks, but how warm it all looks as well.
Visit {My Sweet Savannah} for all her remodling details.

Entry Storage

This time of year, it's almost a necessity to have coat and shoe storage near the door.
Somewhere for all those cold weather clothes to live, so they're not strewn all around the house.
Love the ski lodge feeling of this one. :)
Someday, I will have a storage area just like this.
Love all the big black hooks!!
They're so practical all year long, but especially in the winter time.

New Year's Eve Party

Just wanted to share this pretty little New Year's Eve party I saw on {Blowout Party}.
I'm SO IN LOVE with all the clocks!!
I mean, the clock motif would work every single year.
And I don't think it would ever get old!!

I'm also loving all the gold.  Gold is my favorite this time of year.
Those little clock face plates are killing me!!

It would be fun to have a "movie star picture" with all those clocks in the background.
Happy New Year Everyone!
