Felt Poinsettias

{Centsational Girl} just posted a tutorial on {Infarrantly Creative} for making these Felt Poinsettias:

Gorgeous, right!? 

Supplies: Felt, thread to match, scissors, and a button kit. 

Step 1: Cut out 8 large petals, and 4-8 small petals, and a few leaves (large). 

Step 2: Overlap large petals until you have 8 looking like the shot above.  Sew them together as you go.

Step 3: Overlap small petals until it looks like the above picture, sewing as you go.

Step 4: Using left over felt, make a button. 

Step 5: Sew the button to the middle of the flower.

Step 6: Sew leaves to the bottom, and attach a clip, so you can attach it to whatever you want it to be on - present, pillow, stocking, whatever.

I just love the way these look!! 

Especially on the pillows.  Can't wait to try it!!

I just really love the way these Bells of Ireland look all done up like a Christmas Tree.  What a creative substitute to all the pine needles used this time of year.  Love the little jingle bells poking out, too.  Fun decorating idea.

Good Deed Advent

Her advent involves little services that can be done for people.

She types up the good deeds.

Puts them in buckets with a treat.

And hangs them! 

Great way to be more Christlike during the Christmas Season.

Frilly Filters

It takes all of these supplies, and a little bit of time spent folding and glueing to make this: 

Isn't it lovely!!?  Reminds me of snow and a winter wonderland!! 

The great thing is, you can also do it to a cone like this and make a snow tree like this: 

She just started at the bottom and worked her way to the top, snipping a few at the tippy top to make a point. 

Literally stunning.  Perfect for a winter wedding, if you ask me. :)

Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub

Just a fun little idea for something the girls can do this weekend. :)

Here's the recipe as seen on {Under the Table and Dreaming}:

Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub

{use as a hand scrub or body scrub}

2 Cups of Brown Sugar

1 Cup of Granulated Sugar

2 Tablespoons of Pumpkin Pie Spice

1 Cup + 1 Tablespoon of Sunflower, Safflower, or Vegetable Oil

Mix Brown Sugar, Granulated Sugar and Pumpkin Pie Spice together, making sure there are no lumps.Add in oil and mix well. I like to use Sunflower Oil that can be found in most health food stores. Sunflower oil, like other oils, can retain moisture in the skin. {Safflower Oil is very similar to the Sunflower} Alternately, you can use plain Vegetable Oil as well.

These keep well in a sealed, sanitized glass container for months.  Just keep out of direct sunlight; as you would store the oil itself.

Fun Thanksgiving Treats

Look at the fun things you can make using these yummies.

Use frosting to stick candy corns into an oreo. 

Stick that oreo to another oreo as shown in this picture.

Cut a bit of a tiny reeses off. 

Frost it to the 2nd oreo.  Frost a whopper in front of it. 

Then, decorate a face and feet on the turkey...ya, this is the hard part. 

And these are just chocolate dipped marshmallows frosted to fudge cookies.  All seen on {Our Best Bites}

Kid Friendly Thanksgiving Crafts
