Another Construction Party

I've already posted about a Construction Party {HERE}, but I saw this amazing party on {Kara's Party Ideas}. Check it out for more details. I'm in love with it!

LOVE this idea for marking where the party's at. They definitely got creative with paper for the decorations here.Cute use of cones - which you can get at the hardware store - and I love those balloons. I love the colors. Very Constructiony. And that cute little birthday banner.
See what I mean, about the paper? Those cupcake toppers are really cute! I love how they used dump trucks to serve things in and screws and such to hold the napkins down and just decorate with.See how the cups have the same image as those cupcake toppers?...love the cones on the tables, too. Cute signs for the food table, right? I LOVE it!! I love the fabric they used for the table cloths... And at this party I would definitely have the kids come and eat and do presents first. Then, it's off to the sandbox and dirt. And keep them outside until it's time to go home. :)
Love these little hats - one for each guest would be cute. And the signs in the dirt are fun.
I mean, what little boy wouldn't love this!!? I'd probably just throw these things in a big sandbox, though. Keep that sand where it belongs.

The take home pails. Such a fun idea! Great inspiration for any boy's mommy like myself.

Morning Glory

White Flowers

Something about adding

white flowers to any space

spreads an aura

of peace throughout the room.

It's amazing how

their striking lack of color

draws the eye to them.

And yet they are somehow

able to grab your

attention without

diminishing the beauty

of the rest of the room.

They add so much

to a space in feeling

without taking any attention away from it.

Honey Bee Party

I saw this amazingly cute party on {Imprintables}.
They sent out cute little honey bee invitations. (and thank you cards afterwards)

Spring Dress

Don't you LOVE this dress? I saw it on She's So Pretty and if I had a little girl right now, I'd totally be making one just like this for her, so she could look like this:

Oh so adorable! It looks like it's just a pillowcase dress with really thick straps that loop front and back and tie on the side in the front. And the flowers just look like white fabric with a pink surged edge, gathered into circles with pink centers. So so cute! I'm in love with it! Someday...

Framed Flowers

I love this idea from {My Spot: Home and Garden}!! Those 3D flowers are adorable!!

Don't you think?

What a cute and easy decorating idea! She just hot glued fake leaves and flowers to 5x7 cards and then framed them. So easy!! And so cute. Plus, the possibilities are endless!! I mean, this would look good in any room in the house. Oh, I just love it.

Family Room Design Consultation

I've been doing a few virtual design consultations and the few I've done have gone better than I'd hoped they would. Here is a taste of one of the rooms I did for Jaclyn. I used pictures she sent of each wall and helped her fix some problems in her livingroom.

Before: Jaclyn really liked the idea of having a red accent wall in her family room, but for some reason she didn't like it once she had it painted. She didn't know what she didn't like, but for some reason it wasn't working for her.

My Virtual Design:

I suggested leaving the wall red. I simply explained to her the reason she didn't like it. The wall is supposed to be a focal point, but the wall looks awkward with the love seat in front of it and the curtains on all but one window and the too small plaque resting uncentered on the wall. I suggested moving the furniture, so that the couch sat diagonally in front of the two corner windows with the arm of the couch resting inbetween the window and the door - so as not to block the door. I also suggested making all the curtains on that wall match and centered on the wall. I suggested using a higher curtain rod that stretched the length of the wall. Higher, because she has vaulted ceilings in this room, and the taller curtains would make the furniture groupings seem less dwarfed.

Before:

This room is a large room divided unevenly into a family room and a dining room. The way the room is divided made this photo collage an eyesore for Jaclyn. This long wall has two windows on either end, making you want to have symmetry on the wall. However, the room is divided awkwardly NOT in half so, the living room furniture could not be centered on that wall. So, although Jaclyn centered the photo collage on the wall, something about the space didn't feel right to her.

My Vitural Design: I suggested spreading the photos out evenly between the windows and flanking them with shelves. That way, it wasn't about the center of the wall, it was just about the entire wall. This made it so the furniture didn't have to be centered on the photo collage for it to please the eye. I also suggested arranging the furniture diagonally so no pieces sat against the walls in this space. This would help the room feel dramatically less awkward. My last suggestion was to replace the red curtains with linen or burlap colored drapes.

I think it's finally here! Wouldn't it be fun to live by an orchard? I mean, you could do things like this:
