Tennis Guy Gift

For Grandpa this year, we made a little Tennis Guy.  He's great for holding all kinds of stuff in his mouth like
Chapstick

Pens

Shavers

Washcloths

Toothbrushes

And keys...with funny faces...

But it's mostly just good at sitting somewhere, looking at you, and reminding you of your grandson.

Merry Christmas, Bonka!

Antique Sports Equipment

I love the way these look!  Good old Potterybarn.  Seems like they might be easy to duplicate with some old sports equipment and a deep stain.  I'd like to try sometime.  This is the kind of thing I'd like to decorate my "playroom" someday.  I love the way it looks!  There might be a few Dad's out there who'd like something like this as a Father's Day gift, also. ;)

Words for Father's Day

I thought this was kind of a cute idea for a homemade Father's Day gift.  I think it's something a man could display proudly, too.  Not too kiddish, not too sentimental, not too embarassing, but still kind of meaningful.  Especially if it was made by their child.

Windowseats

I wonder if I'll ever figure out why I love windowseats so much.
They just look so inviting!
Not to mention, they're a pretty creative use of space - resulting in more seating.
I think they make the most sense in rooms that don't typically have couches, like bedrooms, playrooms, and offices.
But, I like them in every room I find them in!
They can act as a pretty and functional piece of storage.
I mean, how practical is that in an office space!?
They're just so cozy.
They make a perfect little reading nook.
Seriously, they're perfect in any room!
Bathrooms...
Seriously, how beautiful is this!
And they look great in kitchens too....
Love em.

DIY Vintage Spools

Don't you love the look of vintage spools?  I do.  In fact I've kind of been on the hunt for some to decorate my craft room.  That is, until I found this tutorial.
Using a dowel and a bunch of wooden disks, this gal make some herself.  She sanded and distressed and stained them to make them look antique.  And then she glued the disks to either side of those wooden dowels.
Then, she stamped the ends to give them that vintage feel.  She also drilled holes in so they'd look realistic.  I probably would have done that before staining them.  So the holes would be darker.
And then she wrapped them in natural colored ribbons and strings.
Throw em in a bowl, and no one will know the difference!
I just love the way these look!!

Light Library

Generally, Libraries have a dark, cozy, deep feeling to them.  Very collegiate.  I really love it!  But when I saw this library, I was really intrigued.
White walls.  White doors.  White chandelier.  White flowers. White, cream, and beige books and decorations.
Yes, there are a few brown accents like the rug, the tables, the pictures, and a few of the figurines, but for the most part, this room is very light.  However, it still feels rather cozy. I'm diggin it!

Office Transformation

Have to say, this office was pretty blah and uninspiring.
But just look at it now!
Love the desk accessories.
Especially this jar idea...
Love how light and airy all the white makes things feel in here.
I LOVE this side of the room - and how you get a glimpse of the chandelier above. I love sitting areas in offices, especially if it's a place where you might meet clients.
So pretty!
This sitting area also makes this office feel a lot more inviting...which is something you would definitely want in a room you plan on spending a lot of time in.
Great job, {Centsational Girl}!!!

Organizing by Jars

LOVE these two organization tips from {Little Birdie Secrets} - especially how these ribbon jars are color coordinated!

I can see a whole craft room decorated and organized by cute looking jars like these. And canning jars seem to always be around, don't they?? Love this idea.

Gifts for the Book Lover

{Living With Lindsay} has a great tutorial for making this awesome wreath. I love the way this looks! I LOVE IT! I don't know what it is about it, but I think it's such an awesome idea. Great gift idea for a book lover...then again, maybe not. :) Guess it depends on how much they love books.

I actually can't pinpoint where this image is from. But, I love these book marks!! I want some!! They are SO chic!! Look pretty easy to make, too. Those look like really thick velvet ribbon. And I'm sure they sell those brackets on the ends of those ribbons at some crafty place and then just add a charm on the end. Aren't they pretty!?  Here is a tutorial I found at {Oh So Crafty}
Anyway, happy gifting!

Merry Christmas!

Black, White and Red

I'm loving these images of creative spaces I saw on {White and Wander}

Something about black, white and red thrills me. Isn't that a cute clip board!? And those red paper clips are too cute in that jar on top of that adorable white shelf.
Love these black checkered curtains hiding organizational bins and drawers...with red labels of course!

I love those letters from Anthropology and that black cd storage tower is so cute!! I've never loved cd storage so much. Love the punch of red in the throw on the chair.
And this one is of course my fave. Look at that cute red storage!!! I love it! Especially with the black and white accents on those shelves. That red striped pillow is adorable on that white couch. And I lvoe the curtains hiding the area beneath the desk. So cute. I also love dark wood floors paired with so much white. This looks like such a fun space to work in.
