Sitting Rooms

Here's a collection of sitting rooms I've gathered over the years.  I use them to give me decorating inspiration from time to time.

I love the window treatments in this room.  I love Roman shades so much better than miniblinds.  And I love this relaxed style of Roman shade.  Also loving that huge vase full of lilys.

This room just seems amazingly calming to me.  It must be all the white.  I love how simple everything is.

Love this room!  Those twin chases are adorable!  What a great place to cuddle up and read a book!  I imagine that they face a wall full of windows with a beautiful view.  I also love that art on the wall!  It almost looks like fabric with embellishments on it.  Loving the ruffle pillows as well.

The French pieces in this room are really sweet to me.  I love how cushy those couches seem!  Also loving the many flower arrangements.  I really like how this room feels really comfortable and cozy, but has that touch of sparkle and glamour to dress things up a bit.

Obviously, I love the chandelier!  And that mirror is stunning, right?

Another super cozy sitting room.  I love the touches of antiques in here.  And I also love the window treatments.  The flower arrangements on the coffee table are pretty, too.

Very symmetrical - but I love how that birdcage is off center.  It gives the room some interest.  Loving the calming colors in this space as well.

I especially love what they've filled the fireplace with.  What a great idea when it's not in use!  Other than that, everything in this room just seems really comfortable - the pillows, the throws...love it.

I kinda just love this room because it's so girly!  What a pretty parlor!  I'm especially loving that tufted ottoman and the tray sitting on it is adorable!  Love those flowers!

Pretty little sunroom, eh?  I love how it's so tropical feeling.  Love the furniture, and the shutter window coverings.  All the plants are a great touch too.

Love the mirror in this one!!!  Seriously, love it~  Those candlesticks are gorgeous as well.  Also, the cream color scheme is great in this room as well.  I love the use of different patterns in the accessories.  They all tie together really well without being matchy.

I mostly love this room because of the way they decorated those shelves.  Turning those books around so the pages are all you see makes things a lot more uniform, I think.  I love the way they look!  I also love the accessories they threw into those shelves.

I really love the pale blues and greens in this room.  Very calming.  I also think that pillow ladder in the back corner is adorable!  Lovc the coffee table.   It's very unique.  And I love what they've put on it.  The lantern, the flower arrangement...

This is probably a nursery, but I think it would work anywhere.  And I also think it's a great idea to have baskets like that in rooms throughout the house to put toys in, because they inevitably end up throughout the house.  LOVE what they've done with the window treatments in here!  I think the knots are adorable!  What a great bay window!  Perfect little sitting area.

This room just reminds me of a beach house.  Loving the whitewashed paneled walls.  I also really like the flower arrangements in here.  And the furniture is just really great.

This Room Is Beautiful!!  I love it!  I love that it opens up to a patio - with not one, but two sets of french doors!  I love that the flooring is tile.  I love the beamed ceiling.  I love all the natural light in here!  And I love the furniture.  Those window treatments are great - casual and nice at the same time.  It just seems so inviting.

I am in love with the window treatments in this room as well!!  There are so many things you can do besides put blinds in windows!!  Sheers and curtains are my favorite.  Cute lamp, too.  It's filled with seashells.  Love the dark wood flooring.

Enchanting Etryways

How lovely is this!!?  I am in love with all the windows!!  They let in so much light!!  I also love the sitting area.  I think all entry's should have a place to sit.  I love how elegant everything is, too.  The pretty fabrics, and the fancy furniture, not to mention the gold accessories and the flowers.  Lovely.

Here is one a little more rustic.  What a view!!  I'd keep that door open all the time.  It almost looks like this house is located in the Italian countryside.  Love the terracotta tile floors, and the massive double front doors.  Also loving the exposed beams.  The table is nice and sweet, but I think they could use a chair or two in here.

Here is a mix between glamour and rustic.  I love the door.  So pretty.  I also love the cozy feel the old furniture and accessories bring in.  This just looks like a house that's been around for a while.  Loving the crown molding - what a great way to dress up the entry!

Summer Movie Night

This just looks like the perfect summer night activity!  Wish I had a backyard like that!!  I love the hanging basket lights and those awesome lounges.  Of course, the giant movie screen is pretty awesome too - easy to make using wood for a frame and a white sheet, stretched across it.  Looks like tons of fun.

Dreamy Creamy Bedrooms

After puzzling for years over what to do to change my bedding, I've come to the realization that I like white bedding best.

It's just so lovely, calming, and peaceful. 

Soft, and plush, and inviting. 

I love the monotone white bedrooms - white on white on white. 

And tufted white headboards look so luxurious! 

Don't you just want to crawl into this bed?! 

I guess I should say I like white bedroom suits, because the white in that bathroom peaking through is calling to me! 

So lovely! 

I love pale blue mixed with the white as well. 

The other thing about white bedding is that it works in every different style. 

Want to make your room look like an upscale hotel?  Use white bedding. 

Love how different textures look in white. 

Look at this lovely bed!  I love the sheer white canopy!  And the sheepskin rug.  So inviting! 

So crisp and clean. 

I love this beach bedroom.  Always a vacation in this home. 

Just lovely.  That's what I want.

Gorgeous Dining Rooms

Here is a collection of simply stunning Dining Rooms.

Ahhh.  The chandelier, the deep wall color, the antique mantle, but most of all the gorgeous drapes!  Aren't those stunning!!?  I love the peek you get of the wrought iron on the balcony outside, too.

I love how elegant it is.  The beautiful chandelier again, and those pink flowers really add something special!  Here is proof that you don't have to have all matching chairs in a Dining Room.  It works.

I am a really big fan of dark hardwood flooring.  I love how it seems to dress up a space!  Love the crystal chandelier again, and the huge pot of hydrangeas on the table is gorgeous!  The chair skirts are so pretty as well.  And I really love those corner built in cabinets.  What a great use of space!!  

This room is very elegant, while still maintaining a level of comfort.  I love the drapes, and the warm wall color.  The chairs look very dressed up with their little skirts, and I love the accessories adorning the table.  

I love the neutral color palette in this room!  And the lovely juxtaposition between the crystals in the chandelier and the antique wood bowl on the table.  Lovely.  That mirror is stunning, as well as the molding that has been added to the walls.  

I love square tables, but it seems like you can only ever find them at counterheight.  I love this one!  That centerpiece is gorgeous as well!  It just feels alive!  And the pretty fig mixed with the green on the table really is lovely, isn't it!? 

Great way to dress up a space: throw some antique mirrors up on the walls.  Aren't those gorgeous!!?  I really love the huge accessories on this table as well. 

Another gorgeous room.  Love all the white.  It makes it feel so light and refined.  I love the chandelier, again, and the pink flowers really make the room pop don't they!!?

Fabulously French

Lately, I've been loving French inspired furniture, fashion, and architecture. 

Isn't it lovely!!?  What's not to love, really?  Pretty crystals, chandeliers, ornate furniture.

Love the pearls, and the colors.  Especially the colors.  I find myself wanting to dress in these muted tones every day.  Aren't the fabrics in this picture gorgeous!!? 

Seriously, so lovely!!  I love the velvets mixed with the silks.  The antiques mixed with the mirrors.  It's all so pretty.  

I love how old that chest seams.  I love the sparkles on the bedding.  The mirrored furniture again.  The candelabra!  Love.

Don't you love that mirror?!  And the tufted furniture is really speaking to me right now. 

Seriously, this really does make it seem like you're looking through rose colored glasses.  I love the colors, the textures, the flowers by the bed, everything about these lovely rooms.
