Kids DIY Mother's Day Paperweight

Cute idea that a kid could totally make.  Cover rocks in fabric.

From {Parents.com}

What you'll need: Fabric, scissors, fabric glue, water, smooth rocks or stones, wax paper, felt letter stickers

Make it: Make a small cut in the end of the fabric and tear strips from it. Cut the strips into manageable pieces and brush watered down glue on the back (coat each piece as you're using it). Adhere the strip of fabric to the rock. Repeat with additional strips, overlapping the edges of the fabric strips. Set aside to dry on wax paper. Once the rock is dry, brush another layer of glue over the top of the rock and let it dry. Embellish with letter stickers, if desired

Cutest Garbage Ever!

Yep, this is a garbage.  Amazing, right!?  I want one!!!
Apparently, she bought this thing, but I've never seen one for sale anywhere, so I'm thinking I might need to have hubby make one for me at some point.  It looks simple enough.  In fact, you could probably just purchase a cabinet and change the direction the door opens!  Then, just add a stand at the bottom for the garbage can to rest on.  Love this idea!
Seriously, have you ever seen a cuter garbage!?
I mean, you can even decorate it!!  I love it!  Visit {Gail's Decorative Touch} for more info and great ideas!

Make Stuff

I just thought this was  a cute decoration idea for a craft room.  Love the curly string that the words are made out of!  And the jumbo buttons!  Just really cute.

DIY Vintage Spools

Don't you love the look of vintage spools?  I do.  In fact I've kind of been on the hunt for some to decorate my craft room.  That is, until I found this tutorial.
Using a dowel and a bunch of wooden disks, this gal make some herself.  She sanded and distressed and stained them to make them look antique.  And then she glued the disks to either side of those wooden dowels.
Then, she stamped the ends to give them that vintage feel.  She also drilled holes in so they'd look realistic.  I probably would have done that before staining them.  So the holes would be darker.
And then she wrapped them in natural colored ribbons and strings.
Throw em in a bowl, and no one will know the difference!
I just love the way these look!!
Visit {The Stories of A 2 Z} for all the little details.

Organizing by Jars

LOVE these two organization tips from {Little Birdie Secrets} - especially how these ribbon jars are color coordinated!

I can see a whole craft room decorated and organized by cute looking jars like these. And canning jars seem to always be around, don't they?? Love this idea.

Basket Light Pendant

So, I looked on {two ellie} a little bit more and found out that she made this basket light with a basket and a plain jane light pendant from the hardware store. She says it looks great at night, when it's lit. I can only imagine. I love it!!! I think it would look great in a dining room, kitchen, laundryroom, craftroom, or even outside on a patio. What a great idea.

Black, White and Red

I'm loving these images of creative spaces I saw on {White and Wander}

Something about black, white and red thrills me. Isn't that a cute clip board!? And those red paper clips are too cute in that jar on top of that adorable white shelf.
Love these black checkered curtains hiding organizational bins and drawers...with red labels of course!

I love those letters from Anthropology and that black cd storage tower is so cute!! I've never loved cd storage so much. Love the punch of red in the throw on the chair.
And this one is of course my fave. Look at that cute red storage!!! I love it! Especially with the black and white accents on those shelves. That red striped pillow is adorable on that white couch. And I lvoe the curtains hiding the area beneath the desk. So cute. I also love dark wood floors paired with so much white. This looks like such a fun space to work in.

Wrapping Station

Check out this awesome work space I saw on My Sweet Savannah. This area would probably be a staple in my future craft room. I love gift wrapping, but I hate the mess of finding everything you need, dragging it all out to your work area, and then putting it all away. Having it all readily available like this would be so nice!

Rods for wrapping paper, celophane, and tissue paper. Spools of ribbon strung on a rod. Scissors hanging from pegs. Wrapping paper in a cute little basket like that. And of course some drawers for bags and such. I love it! Someday...
