Little Hands Mother's Day Card

Last year, I made a Mother's Day card for my our Nana aka Grandma using this idea from {A Day in My Life}:
We put the hands inside the card, and used stickers for the letters.  It was really cute and, she LOVED it.  So, this year, I thought we'd better do another hand-made card - pun intended.
I love sticker letters!  Makes it so cute when the little ones put them on!  And you don't have to worry about them messing it up too bad. haha.

I adore the upside down "r", in fact.

  I think she'll love it.

So, we traced their hands again, and folded the fingers around flowers for Nana.

I helped him cut circles with our circle cutter, and then cut slits in the sides to make petals.  Then we glued buttons to the middle.  It was a pretty easy flower, and I think it has a super cute effect when all together.

Happy Mother's Day!

Kids DIY Mother's Day Paperweight

Cute idea that a kid could totally make.  Cover rocks in fabric.

From {Parents.com}

What you'll need: Fabric, scissors, fabric glue, water, smooth rocks or stones, wax paper, felt letter stickers

Make it: Make a small cut in the end of the fabric and tear strips from it. Cut the strips into manageable pieces and brush watered down glue on the back (coat each piece as you're using it). Adhere the strip of fabric to the rock. Repeat with additional strips, overlapping the edges of the fabric strips. Set aside to dry on wax paper. Once the rock is dry, brush another layer of glue over the top of the rock and let it dry. Embellish with letter stickers, if desired

Kids DIY Mother's Day Card

Cannot get over how much I love this!!
It takes hardly any supplies - and let's be honest, you could write the letters just as easily...or use stencils so the kids could do it themselves.
What mom or grandma wouldn't love this!?
So simple and so cute!!
Visit {A Day in My Life} for all the details.

Kids DIY Mother's Day Pot

I love this kid craft idea! Something so simple that turns out so cute!
All you need are some empty tuna cans stripped of their label, and some clothes pins.
Have the kids pin the clothes pins on the can all the way around.
Simple right?
Then you can put a plant inside.
Or they even make great votives.
But for Mother's Day, a flower would be best!
Visit {Family Chic} for all the details.

Mother's Day Interview

Love this idea from {Pepper&Buttons}.  I think I'll video tape my kids' answers to these questions every Mother's Day.

Spring, Spring, Spring!

I am really loving these pastel pinks right now.
Perfect for this time of year when everything is new again.
Makes you just want to dance around hugging things.
I love this time of year.
Fresh and bright.
I love how no matter how long winter is,
Spring always follows.

Spring Pink

Spring is officially here in my neck of the woods!
And I am loving it!
So excited for flowers.
For pretty pinks.
This color just embodies spring to me.
Everything soft and sweet and new.
Love this color paired with light greens - it works in so many ways: outfits, rooms, photographs.  Probaby because it works so well in nature.
Don't you just want to touch it!?
Pink, Soft, Pretty, Spring.

I Love You Books

Here's another great ide from {The Creative Homemaker} using these tiny books you can find just about anywhere...new or used.
She covered the outside using modpodge and fabric.
Then, cut paper to fit the book pages.
And modpodged or double stick taped them in.
Then she added numbers to every page, and gave each number a reason she loved the recipient.
I think it's a really cute gift for children from their parents.
Love the way she labeled them, too!  So cute!
And since Father's Day is rolling around, this might be a fun craft project for the kiddos to make for their Daddy, as well!

Hydrangea Cake

I just love hydrangeas!  They might be my favorite flower.  I love them all year long.
And that's probably why I about died when I saw this amazing cake.
How I would love to plan a party around this beauty!!
It's rare that things look as good as you know they taste.  But this does.
For info on how to make this cake, visit {I Am Baker} and she explains how to frost it {here}.
Wouldn't this make a great Mother's Day cake!??
