All About Autumn

What a gorgeous time of year!
I just relish these months when the world seems to be on fire.
Fall is my Favorite
For so many obvious reasons.
The cozy warm feeling that comes over the earth is hard to beat.
It makes me want to own a cabin.
Happiest of Holidays!

Pillow Pumpkins

A few years ago, I fell in love with these stuffed pumpkins and posted all about the original tutorial {here}
This year, I decided to have a go at them.
I found a bunch of fabric remnants and put together five coordinating fabrics, then got some pretty ribbon, and some curly cues from a past grapevine project and I was set.
The tutorial I linked above is amazingly easy to follow, and after making one or two, I didn't find it necessary to even measure anymore.
The hardest part was stitching up the bottom with the beanbag inside, but it was only hard because it took a while.
I was super happy with the result!
And love the way they're looking on my mantle right now.

Fall Picnic

My favorite part about living in a Southern state is that we get to enjoy fall for so long.
We can take a picnic and enjoy the beauty of Autumn without freezing.
And there are sooo many good eats this time of year!
It'd be a shame to have to enjoy them all inside!

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Cardigan Refashion

So I got this cardigan at Target a while ago, but when I bought it it was just a plain cardigan in a beautiful mustard yellow color.

I wanted a little bit more than that, so I bought it in a size too big.

I took it in by sewing a seam from the end of the sleeves, all the way up through the armpit and back down to the bottom at the waist.

I cut off the extra from the new seam and pinned it to the front in a crazy pattern that does not match on either side.

I didn't do anything to the extra fabric except twist it and turn it until I liked the way it looks.  It got that bubbled look just by being a knit. And then I stitched it all on with a sewing machine.  If you look at the inside, it just looks like a bunch of crazy stitch lines, going in every different direction, making a big mess.

And I'm in love with the result!!

A pretty little cardigan for a way better deal than if I'd tried to buy one already embellished!

So, I'm definitely doing this again.

A Lovely Picnic

This just seems like THE perfect activity or party theme for this month.
What a beautiful picnic September makes!  All the golden sunlight and the wonderful food harvest brings!
And don't you love all the baskets hanging from the trees, and how they set it all up on plain old cloth, and how they put those daisys in tin cans!?
I love this time of year!

Sweet September Sundown

Perfect time of year to be outdoors at sunset.
Filling the new night with your own lights.
What I wouldn't give for a backyard that was fun to spend time in right now!
In the sweet september night.
Where every night can feel like your own private party.

Thankful Chain

I really love this idea from {Silverbox Creative Studio}!  Everyone gets write one thing they are thankful for on a link of this chain.  What a great thing to do on Thanksgiving Day!  I'd like to make this a tradition.  You can imagine that the chain might get quite long as you continue to remember things you're thankful for all day long.  Here is the {printable}.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Tables

Just some decorating ideas for your Thanksgiving table.
Sweet and simple corn bundles sitting on top of a bare table.  Love that huge wreath!
Love the gold theme here.  Golden pumpkins in hurricanes.  A gold charger under each plate, and a pumpkin on top.  Love the little frame, too!  It says "Blessed Thanksgiving".
Love the simplicity of the leaf tied on top of a napkin here!  And I adore this centerpiece!!!  The candles, the berry garland, the gourds and the fact that it all sits on a piece of old wood.
I really love pears this time of year, and incorporating them into a Thanksgiving place setting is my idea of yummy!
Love how these artichokes look!  Kind of a different color scheme here, but I really like it!!
Love this simple centerpiece!  The pretty fall branches in a vase surrounded by pumpkins.  Sweet and simple!
I'm in love with the lanterns used as a centerpiece on this table!!  And the pinecones are lovely!  This would be a great Christmas table, as well.
