Remember Christ - Christmas Advent

If anyone has been following my blog for a while, they know I'm slightly obsessed with Christmas Advents.  I have a ton of posts with different advent ideas.  I love them.

 

But, I've also had a mission in posting and searching for all these advents.  I once received a Christmas advent which encouraged people to come to know their Savior through reading about Him in scripture.  Each day focused on a different virtue He posessed.  Somehow, I misplaced that advent and have been searching for it ever since.

 

Today, my search is finally over.  Of all the Christmas advents, I think this one is most meaningful and important.  Read a scripture every day and Come to know Christ better.  In the future, I might change the order of these scriptures around a bit, but I am so happy to have found this at {Tip Junkie}!  What I'd really love to do is have a tree ornament to go with each virtue.  Willowtree has a lot that would work.  I've also included links to some ideas.

Another idea I just came across on {Pinterest} relates to this post.  Their advent is a story a day about Jesus.  And they've used pictures to place on the calendar.  I love this idea, too.

So simple, but so cute!

 

I love the teeny tiny jingle bells.  They are adorable.

And the pine cones are cute too.

Love the woodland feel of these.

The velvet ribbon really makes them look cozy, doesn't it?! 

 

Anyway, I'm selling them in my {Little Craft Shoppe} just in time for Christmas!!

 

Cardigan Refashion

So I got this cardigan at Target a while ago, but when I bought it it was just a plain cardigan in a beautiful mustard yellow color.

I wanted a little bit more than that, so I bought it in a size too big.

I took it in by sewing a seam from the end of the sleeves, all the way up through the armpit and back down to the bottom at the waist.

I cut off the extra from the new seam and pinned it to the front in a crazy pattern that does not match on either side.

 

I didn't do anything to the extra fabric except twist it and turn it until I liked the way it looks.  It got that bubbled look just by being a knit. And then I stitched it all on with a sewing machine.  If you look at the inside, it just looks like a bunch of crazy stitch lines, going in every different direction, making a big mess.

And I'm in love with the result!!

A pretty little cardigan for a way better deal than if I'd tried to buy one already embellished!

So, I'm definitely doing this again.

On a side note: I love this kid friendly version of the superhero cartoons.  The other ones are all PG13, did you know that?  Love that my child obsessed with super heroes can watch these and read these books and I don't have to worry about what he's seeing or hearing.
