DIY Vintage Spools

Don't you love the look of vintage spools?  I do.  In fact I've kind of been on the hunt for some to decorate my craft room.  That is, until I found this tutorial.
Using a dowel and a bunch of wooden disks, this gal make some herself.  She sanded and distressed and stained them to make them look antique.  And then she glued the disks to either side of those wooden dowels.
Then, she stamped the ends to give them that vintage feel.  She also drilled holes in so they'd look realistic.  I probably would have done that before staining them.  So the holes would be darker.
And then she wrapped them in natural colored ribbons and strings.
Throw em in a bowl, and no one will know the difference!
I just love the way these look!!

holy cowamunga!

Speechless! Started my morning as usual. Went to my favorite bloggies (you, by the way, are sort of a big wig in blog land, if you didn't know that already).

Lo and behold, I found MY little old blog listed on YOUR "sites I love".
I think I might have teared up!

Thank you thank you thank you.

Like I said, I'm a bit new to the blog world and still figuring it all out.

So, thank you for leaving me speechless.

Have a wonderful day. You made mine.
